Burton Jazz Festival 15th & 16th Sept 2018 At The National Brewery Centre, Burton upon Trent

Burton Jazz Festival 2018

It’s big band swing time! The Jazz Knights Orchestra will headline on Saturday Night with supported by The Ben Holder Quarter!

Led by Cliff Longhurst, the fabulous 18 piece Jazz Knights Orchestra, with vocal support, will perform a mix of Swing Time Jazz and material paying tribute to the legendary clarinet player Woody Herman.

Performing material from throughout Woody’s long career which started in the 1930’s right up to his final performances in the 1980s, the music from six decades of popular Jazz is just too good to ever be forgotten. Enjoy the excitement and drive of classic live performances that made Woody Herman a legend. There will be a team of Swing Dancers to get the movement going and give you the chance to try out the Lindy Hop, Solo and Balboa! Get those dancing shoes on!

The Ben Holder Quartet is a stellar line-up of incredible musicians, blending an energetic mix of traditional jazz and swing with Ben’s own infectious originals, which hark back to the fun and swing of the 1920s and 1930s. The group is one of the most exciting bands to emerge in recent years. Led by the fiery enthusiasm of 26-year-old Ben Holder, who wows on violin, the quartet is strengthened by the phenomenal Jez Cook on guitar, the suave talent of Paul Jefferies on double bass and the breath taking drumming of Nick Milward. The Ben Holder Quartet masterfully mix old jazz favourites and upbeat swingers with some more recent material and leave audiences up and down the country shouting for more. Expect jazz violin as you’ve never seen it before! http://www.benholdermusic.co.uk/
